Description
Students learn the vocabulary of art education and learn about the education profession in Utah and nationwide. They become skilled in the learning process as it applies to the teaching of art, conceptual cognition, and imagery. They study the creative process in depth and practice the preparation of lessons. Students continue to build on the projects and have practical hands-on experience in applying theoretical knowledge. Students select a current topic in art education to research, summarize, and present to members of the class. This course has a strong service orientation and community outreach component; students are required to contribute 30 to 40 hours of service, which includes planning, material aquisition, and training for service projects.
