Description
Using Microsoft Access as a database model, students will understand basic database concepts applied to turning raw healthcare data into useful information. Topics covered include: relational databases; les/forms/queries/reports; decision & information needs; why structure data the way it is; SQL; data input security issues; PC version versus Servers (overview); and "getting" data versus "analyzing" data. [HIT "Core" Certificate Series I course; 2 four-hour computer lab presentations]
