Relationship between the structure of biomaterials and their interaction with blood, soft, and hard tissue. Mechanical properties, fabrication, and degradation mechanisms, and performance testing of materials in biomedical use. Regulatory aspects. Includes laboratory experiences in material covered in the lecture.
