Description
Clinical case study in cardiology and electrocardiographic interpretation. Students will be instructed in electrocardiography by attending cardiologists and fellows during the daily ECG interpretation sessions in the heart stations at UUMC and VAMC. Students are expected to read a standard ECG text during the rotation, to pre-read the tracings, and to discuss their interpretations. Students will participate in the care of inpatients and outpatients on the Cardiology Consultation services at UUMC and VAMC. Instruction in major cardiovascular diseases will be given by the faculty and fellows. A bibliography of current review articles on topics in cardiology consultation will be provided. Weekly conferences include catheterization conference, clinical case conference, and ECG conference.
