Description
Take a road trip to Farmington Bay Bird Refuge and investigate what wetlands are all about. Discover what tiny algae and animal like creatures live in our pristine waters. Collect samples of mud, soil, water, and plants. Learn how to stain a slide and use a microscope in a campus biology lab. Slice, dice, and then analyze with microscopes to understand the life and times of these small and amazing creatures. Photograph and create an identification key of your findings. Perform chemical tests on the soil and water. Compile all of your findings and create a virtual image guide to the Refuge.
