Description
Participants in this course will learn how the populations and economies of the western states are different from those of the rest of the country. Utah is unique among Rocky Mountain States because of its young population and large families; we will focus on some of the causes and implications of this. You will also learn about structural changes in the economies of the western states over time and how migration continues to have economic causes and consequences. Finally, we will consider possible futures for Utah and the west given current and anticipated economic and demographic trends.
