Join a camp full of aspiring scientists! Let your creativity, curiosity and sense of discovery take over for a week as you learn about oodles of science stuff. There are no boring lectures or homework, just a week of discovering how things operate by performing hands-on investigations and explorations. This weekly camp theme will stretch your imagination because you will be interfacing with various departments and interesting people at the University of Utah. Visit the Utah House at Utah State University extension and learn about horticulture, wetlands, wildlife, and energy. View macro-invertebrates and make solar oven s'mores. Develop a deeper understanding of the world by participating in rad natural science. However, all aspiring scientists should remember that swimming, playing and recreation in camp are still important! Electives for the 6-9 year olds may include science in the kitchen, natural science, designing and assembling contraptions, or workshops at the U of U Medical School. Electives for 10 to 12-year-olds may include visiting the U of U med school, constructing bridges, investigating mechanical engineering, rockets or girl-powered science!
