Description
Up, up and away! Time to stick your head into the clouds and let your mind go to the birds. This Club U camp will leave you soaring as you visit the Tracy Aviary and study our fine feathered friends from around the world. Learn how birds fly by examining the wings and tail feathers of several different birds. Observe hornbills, crows, hawks, eagles, and Popeye, the yellow-naped Amazon parrot. Not high enough yet? Then take off for an expedition into the atmosphere where you'll track the weather and to find out why the wind blows. Then blast off for a trip through the universe as you visit the Clark Planetarium. You may not want to come down to earth but at week's end you will land at Deer Creek Reservoir for another day of fun. Electives for 6-9 year olds may include making wide chimes, wind catchers or airplanes, learning about natural phenomena or geology. Electives for 10-12 year olds may include meteorology workshops, space aces or ultimate Frisbee.
