Description
In this advanced level, two-session course, advanced students will examine a series of issues in contemporary American life and respond to it in a written composition. This involves background reading about the issue, reading an essay expressing a contrary point of view, and looking at a real case study involving the issue. Group and individual exercises help students clarify a point of view, acquire new vocabulary, and practice grammatical structures in preparation for writing persuasive and argumentative essays.
