Description
South America's rich musical heritage includes instruments such as the quena, zampona (panflute), charango, drum, rattle, and accordion. Explore indigenous music from Argentina, Bolivia, and Peru as you learn basic skills on each instrument. Bring a playful spirit and a desire to experiment; no musical experience is necessary. All instruments are provided. Thomas recently completed a Ph.D. in Musicology and a World Music Certificate from Florida State University. He is actively engaged as an accordionist and percussionist in the folk music of South America, Italy, and West Africa.
