Youth Academy of Excellence: The world is your canvas and words are your brushes when you are a writer. Learn the tricks of language and how to use them to portray character and describe a scene. Let yourself be lead to the miracles in everything around you, and then learn to capture them on paper. Play with 'slam' poetry (like hip-hop, only better), watch a story come to life where you never knew one existed, find poems in everything from newspapers to refrigerator notes, then find the courage within you to share these things.
