Prerequisite: NURS 6006, 6365, 6356, (Psychiatric resident status).
Description
This is an interdisciplinary course that takes place over two semesters. This is the second semester course. Graduate psychiatric APRNs will participate with Psychiatry residents in a didactic course for 8 weeks. Lectures will focus on psychopharmacological treatment of mental disorders. Nursing seminar time will be included in addition to every lecture (1 hr/wk) to discuss application of content, appropriate medication choices and management strategies. Nursing law and scope of practice will also be covered.
