OSHER 144 - The American Presidency in the Twentieth Century

Increasingly throughout the twentieth century, as the nation faced domestic crises and perceived threats from abroad, the White House became the focal point for governmental action and political controversy. This course will survey the terms of the eighteen men who served as President between 1901 and 2001 in an effort to understand the problems they faced and how each one met those challenges.
