Description
Explore the burgeoning field of feminist/womanist/mujerista theology. We begin with basic questions: What is feminism?; What is theology?; and What happens to our ideas about God when we take seriously the experiences, insights, and aims of women? Each week we focus on an issue typically central in Christian thought, e.g. what it means to be human, what God is like, what value and authority the Bible has, what the church is (and how it should be run), and what liberation or salvation entails. We close with an examination of religious feminist outlooks on care of the earth.
