Description
Would you like to grow a garden that you can enjoy with your family? Learn the tricks to starting and maintaining a successful organic garden in this informative beginner?s class for adults and kids. Focus on approaches to growing food from an ecological perspective. We will cover techniques that emphasize soil fertility and avoid pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. We'll also discuss cool - and warm-season vegetable crops, planting dates, companion planting, mulching, composting, common garden insects and much more. Get your hands dirty and by the end of workshop, you will have designed your own garden plan and completed a month-by-month gardening calendar. Fee is for adult & child pair; class is limited to 7 pairs. No Class on April 5th.
