Description
Have you or someone you love recently been diagnosed with Celiac's disease? If you are suddenly faced with cooking and/or eating a gluten-free diet, join us for this information-packed class. We will discuss what's safe, what isn't, and what's unknown; label reading and ingredients with 'hidden' gluten; nutritional challenges and how to meet them; and where to find gluten-free products, both locally and online. We'll also discuss gluten-free cooking and baking and dining out safely. The final class will take place in a kitchen so you can see what you've learned. You will receive handouts showing substitution formulas and recipes for gluten-free baking mixes as well as a list of support groups.
