Description
You are what you eat, says the maxim, and in these days of artificial ingredients, added hormones, and engineered foods, this statement rings truer than ever. In this class, you will get both a general overview of good nutrition and a specific look at how what you eat can make the difference between whether you feel good or feel bad. We'll see how nutrients influence brain health, physical activity, disease prevention, and longevity. We will look at savvy shopping, eating well when eating out, and choosing food for your family that will help your children develop longtime healthy habits. Nutritional choices and supplements for those with food allergies or intolerances will also be discussed.
