Description
Introduction to the continuing evolution of animation. The course investigates not only the creative and technological innovations that expand cinematic storytelling (from Mickey Mouse to VFX, Simpsons, Anime and Games today) but also how the arts are an integral part (i.e. sound/music, visual art, cinematography, editing, motion, acting, theatrical lighting etc.). Through lecture, discussion, demonstration, basic animation assignments, readings and analysis, students will acquire knowledge of the fundamentals of animation and its production pipeline. This is a lower-division course designed for the non-major and major.
