Description
Silky, smoky, or sparklingly clear, fused glass is as lovely as it is versatile. In this hands-on class, you will begin at the beginning--with exercises in glass cutting. Then, using your newfound skills, you will design and create two fused and slumped plates and another small project. Along the way you'll receive design tips, practice straight and curved cuts, become comfortable with the tools of the trade, and learn studio safety. We'll also cover the basics of kiln forming, types of glass, and glass compatibility. Special fee covers all equipment and materials. This class is a prerequisite to LLCFT 223, Intermediate/Advanced Fused Glass Jewelry. Class is limited to 8.
