OSHER 357 - Classical Connections: What great music teaches us about ourselves

Focusing on the music of the great composers, such as Beethoven, Shostakovich and Bach, we will explore classical music and discover why it matters. In addition to learning about the music, we will discover what this music teaches us about history, culture, and ourselves. Opportunities for concert attendance at selected School of Music events will be an added bonus to the activities in class. No prior knowledge of music is needed to enjoy and learn.
