Description
Why do some cultural and religious questions end up in the U.S. Supreme Court? This class will consider the current controversial matter of same-sex marriage and students will become familiar with the tools to analyze this contemporary constitutional issue as it works its way through state and federal legislation and judicial rulings before arriving at the Supreme Court. We will also examine the effect these laws and judicial decisions have on institutions and individual citizens. This class will include two films and much class discussion.
