In his novels---"The Sun Also Rises", "A Farewell to Arms", "For Whom the Bell Tolls", and "The Old Man and the Sea"--- Ernest Hemingway reflected the disillusionment of a segment of the generation who came out of World War I. Through reading and class discussion we will come to an understanding of how the experiences of World War I affected this group of young writers. Learn why Hemingway's fiction was a significant influence in American literature and earned him the Nobel prize.
