Whole or ground, toasted or fresh, spices such as turmeric, coriander and cumin are the mainstay of Indian cooking. In this demonstration class, learn how to use the essential spices and herbs to maximum effect as you infuse oil, make a masala (spice mix) and discover the proper way to introduce spices into curries and other dishes in your kitchen. During this class, you will discover the secrets to making your own: Curry Powder, Tandoori (Grilling) Masala, and Garam Masala. This demonstration class requires 48-hour advance registration.
