LLWRC 823 - Pitch Perfect: A Freelance Writing Primer

Learn the tools you need to make the leap from novice writer to published author. This course will teach you to think like an editor so you can build your career as a freelance writer. Topics to be covered include: how to write a standout query (pitch) letter, where and how to find story ideas, getting those ideas into the right hands and how to build and maintain relationships with editors. This hands-on course will offer students the opportunity to write and fine-tune formal pitches, which will be shared with the group on the final night of class.
