YEART 319 - A Graphic Novel This Way Comes (Age 13-18)

Aspiring young artists will explore the comic book as a wholly developed narrative; commonly referred to as graphic novels, these works of art combine highly developed themes, narratives, and art in one piece. Instruction will center on style, story, and design elements. Students will study great artists in the genre including Alan Moore and Robert Kirkman and their respective works such as "Promethea" and "The Walking Dead." At the end of the week students will have a large collection of ideas and an ever growing portfolio to carry them into realizing their creative genius.
