Description
This survey course is an application of financial management techniques to decision making in health care organizations is designed to prepare students for supervisory and management roles. Students are exposed to the financial structure of health care organizations and the environment within which they have to operate. Topics include financial accounting and reporting requirements, cost and managerial accounting, private and public third-party payment, accounts receivable management, budgeting, and resource allocation. Financial management techniques used in budget preparation, investment alternatives, financial forecasting, and capital structures are presented with a focus on healthcare organizations.
