Description
The purpose of this course is to develop and improve effectiveness as a manager by introducing students and having them practice the requisite skills that today's leaders need. The course will provide core values, principles and basic competencies for leading human service agencies, its staff, and services. A core group of competencies will be presented with exercises to help in achieving mastery of the competencies. Students will learn and practice leadership functions including Getting on the Balcony, Identifying adaptive challenges, Regulating distress, Maintaining disciplined attention, Giving the work back to the people and Protecting all voices.
