PRTS 2008 - 002 Avalanche-Level 2
Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after the 2nd day following this meeting. Class meets Feb 26th and March 5th. Field sessions Feb 28- March 2. Day sessions only, no camping required. Students must be capable to travel in variable snow conditions in steep terrain with backcountry skis/skins, snowboard/splitboard, or snowshoes. Class will focus on snowpack, analysis of stability, decision making, snowpack metamorphosis (change), terrain features, safe travel, human factors and rescue scenarios. This is Level II of a two part avalanche sequence; Level 1 must be completed in year prior to 2014. Level 2 certificate of completion is provided.
