Description
Whales are fascinating creatures. Learn how these beautiful animals live, reproduce, migrate, communicate, and interact with humans. How are the various types of whales similar and how are they unique? What constitutes a whale family? What is their life cycle? What are the threats to whales and how do whale populations reflect the health of the oceans and the planet? Our focus will be on whales of the Pacific. An instructor-guided visit to the Oregon State University Hatfield Marine Science Center located in Newport, Oregon is a possibility if there is sufficient interest.
