This course focuses on the study design and development of pediatric clinical and basic research studies that are currently in progress. Students will be introduced to real-world issues that faculty researchers face. Sessions will include presentations on study design and progress in a variety of specialties including: Cellular Biology, Genetics, Human Physiology, Pathology, Public Health, Cardiology, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Students will also study and learn the importance of responsible conduct of research (RSR), and the role it plays in good clinical practice. Weekly lectures will always take place at Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMC), rooms A&B on the third floor. Students can take course multiple times for credit.
