Description
Play a series of games recreating the decisive battles in Western Europe in 1944, including the D-Day landings and related battles fought by the Allies and the Germans in World War II. Using an easy-to-learn board game, Memoir '44, students will learn basic and advanced rules for using tanks, infantry, artillery, and defensive terrain to accomplish their objectives in each battle. Memoir '44 is considered a "light," accessible, tactical-level war game in which players use command cards to activate troops, dice to resolve combat, and lots of cool plastic figures set up on a modular board with variable terrain. This is an introductory-level game suitable for beginning gamers who are also interested in history. Each day will feature a different battle from this critical moment in history. Students will also learn about the true life events surrounding the battles.
