Description
Most "business planning" courses teach the student how to prepare a document that can be used to help obtain funding for their proposed venture. The implicit assumption is that the business plan is itself valuable. In contrast, this class is based on the assumption that the crucial task is to define and validate business concepts. The course provides students with the skills needed to perform that task. Students prepare an opportunity assessment, a presentation, and the needed documentation to support their business concepts. The class concludes with a formal presentation to a panel of experts of students' opportunity assessments.
