Description
How do vision, hearing, taste, smell and touch work? How do we communicate through storied about our sensory experiences of the world? Through this course, students discover how the relationship between art and science manifests itself in individuals, in disciplines and in society. In addition, we'll explore questions at the interface between science and art and we'll consider the ways in which art and science offer us models of knowlefge through which we see and understand the worl. We'll learn about sensory systems and perception and how science and art help us understand how these system work. We will look at the ways that the institutions of knowledge, such as museums and schools, shape our understanding of the categories 'art' and 'science.'
