Description
Broad introduction to a variety of manufacturing processes and allied topics in a hands-on lab-based context. Hands-on laboratory exercises will introduce students to manual machining (turning, milling, and drilling), introduction to CNC machining, waterjet machining, rapid prototyping and addictive manufacturing, vacuum forming, sheetmetal working, metrology, surface quality and geometrical and dimensional tolerancing and control, and statistical quality control. By the end of the course, the student will gain beginner hands-on skills in using manufacturing equipment and fabricating equipment and fabricating parts to desired specifications. Complement to ME EN 2650 Manufacturing for Engineering Systems.
