Description
This course first explores how public agencies shape and respond to law. This entails review of the U.S. Constitution, the forms of law, the structure and function of state and federal course, the legislative process, and statutory interpretation. Students will learn about the legal infrastructure supporting public participation in governance, and how lawyers analyze cases, how they build arguments, and how courts review government action. Particular attention will be focused on how all these elements are manifest in U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
