Description
This course focuses on the use of the written word to advance the mission of social work as well as individual academic careers. It is designed to give students an introduction to the political economy of academic discourse from the political dynamics that influence editorial decision-making to the economic considerations that determine the fate (and content) of journals. We will explore the craft of scholarly writing. Students will also read and critique published articles on a wide range of topics, conduct regular peer reviews of work in progress, and prepare a critical review of the literature in their chosen fields.
