Description
Meets with ANTH 4240. Additional work required of graduate students. This course will discuss ongoing evolution and some of its implications. It has become apparent in the last few years that the human genome continues to evolve and change. In fact, our genome is changing perhaps ten times faster than the average rate of change during the last few million years. We infer this from patterns of diversity along chromosomes, from chimp-human differences, and from population differences in chromosome structure.
