Description
A contextual study of the relationship and effect of ancient and early dance forms that laid the basis for the establishment of classical ballet during the Renaissance period. Changes in dance technique, production and style as they relate to political, religious, and artistic developments during specific periods. Emphasis on the two classical periods, the romantic period and the neoclassical period. Course culmination explores the relationship between classical ballet and current contemporary dance forms.
