Description
Second in a two-course sequence, this course is intended to be the capstone to the MHA degree. The purpose of this course is to give students exposure to healthcare specific application of tools and skills learned in the first year (especially MBA core courses) and to discuss topics of current concern to healthcare administrators. The second semester includes exploration of the unique issues in healthcare accounting and finance, management of healthcare professionals, including licensure, discipline, and team delivery of healthcare, challenges of delivering high quality healthcare efficiently and the role of electronic health information systems in meeting those challenges. The course is team-taught and practicing healthcare administrators are included as visiting faculty.
