Description
Meets with OIS 5610. Managerial decisions - regardless of their functional orientation - increasingly leverage quantitative models from the discipline of management science. This course takes a managerial approach to management science by using Microsoft Excel to setup, solve and analyze problems in a wide array of fields such as finance, marketing, operations, information systems, etc. The tools covered may include linear and integer models, critical- path method/project management, risk, insurance, decision trees and simulation. Where applicable, the course will build on topics at a more advanced level than models covered in OIS 6040 and 6041, Data Analysis and Decision Making. A working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
