PHYS 5470 - Introduction to Atomic Physics

An introduction to atomic physics, including atomic structure, spectra, and interaction of atoms with light; applications to optical pumping, atomic clocks, laser trapping and cooling. Intended for advanced undergraduate physics majors in the applied and pre-professional tracks; also intended as a research-related elective for physics PhD students.
