RELS 4800 - 001 Eco-Spirituality
(course description) In the transcendent wilderness setting of Centennial Valley, Dr. Maeera Shreiber from the University of Utah, and the Rev. Tom Goldsmith from the First Unitarian Church, will combine their perspectives to enrich a deeper understanding of what spiritual connection to the Earth means in today?s precarious environmental framework. Spirituality is considered broadly, not only rooted in religious tradition, but an aspect of our lives that speaks to what it means to be human. Facing our growing awareness of unsustainable practices, the workshop will explore changes in human consciousness and examine how Creation narratives impact our ethics, sensibilities, and responsiveness to stewardship.
