Description
Nature provides a beautiful untended garden in the forests and backyards that surround us; sitting mostly unappreciated and ignored. Discover the hidden edible delights that await once you know what you are looking for and soon, what you may have considered a weed, will become a nutritious delicacy on your dinner table. When you complete this course you will find yourself hunting elderberries and eating nettles raw as you hunt for that next food find. For the field day students are asked to wear long pants, long sleeves, and hiking boots or shoes. Section 1 will visit city and foothill locations. Section 2 will travel to American Fork Canyon. Students are encouraged to carpool. Field locations are subject to change.
