Description
Meets with ANTH 2551 and ANTH 6550. Topics in Shoshone Language and Grammar is an intensive language course focused on the Western Shoshone varieties of eastern Nevada. The course extends the basic conversational and grammatical instruction of Beginning Shoshone Language II by incorporating extensive exposure to Shoshone language realia and cultural products in the form of recorded and transcribed texts from the Wick R Miller Collection. Although the course meets with Beginning Shoshone Language II, students are expected to complete additional assignments and the responsibility to model language use and activity participation of Shoshone students.
