Description
Play a series of games recreating the decisive battles in Western Europe in 1944, including the D-Day landings and related battles fought by the Allies and the Germans in World War II. Using an easy-to-learn board game, Memoir '44, students will learn basic and advanced rules for using tanks, infantry, artillery and defensive terrain to accomplish their objectives in each battle. Memoir '44 is an accessible, easy-to-learn tactical-level war game in which players use command cards to move troops to attack and defend... oh, and with and lots of cool plastic figures on a modular board with variable terrain. This is an introductory-level game suitable for beginning gamers who are also happen to be interested in history. Each day in the course will feature a different battle from this critical moment in WWII history. Students will also learn about the real events that inspired the game.
