Description
While soldiers on the ground fought in muddy trenches, overhead dashing young pilots flew colorful biplanes in a gallant effort to shoot down the enemy and claim glory. It's chivalry in the skies in this new course on air-to-air combat in World War I (1914-18). Using historically accurate scaled models, students will get to take command of an early flying machine and have fun attempting to shoot down the enemy, complete recon missions, and become an ace-following in the footsteps of famous pilots like Manfred von Richthofen and Eddie Rickenbacker. This course will feature the game Wings of Glory, an easy, fun-to-play, fast and furious system that simulates planes with very different flight maneuver capabilities and firepower. Even if you don't become an ace during the week, you'll sure have a great time trying. Historical background material will be presented during the course to enhance students understanding and enjoyment of the game.
