Description
Meets with CHEM 5300. This course will cover the fundamentals of polymer chemistry and polymer structure. The topics will include basic types of polymers, their characterization, mechanisms of polymer formation, specific examples of polymer structures, applications of polymeric materials, advances in polymer chemistry. Three lectures, one discussion per week for 7.5 weeks. Students will be required to pass a midterm and a final exam and prepare a presentation on a topic of current interest in the area of polymer chemistry.
