Description
This hands-on course will engage students in an interdisciplinary health communication research experience working with clinical datasets and foster proficiency with state-of-the-science, widely used software. This course will be offered in a two-semester sequence (3 credit hours/semester). Student teams will use software to apply coding systems to health care interactions that are 1) transcribed or 2) digitally recorded. This component contributes to the immersion aspect of the course, offering an interdisciplinary team experience in working with clinical data. This is a hybrid course, with online and face-to-face elements. This course is geared toward graduate students who have initial training in research methods.
