Description
Based mostly on writings by major physicists themselves, this course introduces students to major topics in the history of physics from Galileo and Newton to the present. In class, we will recreate several important experiments and explore relationships among experiment, mathematics, and theory. We will also consider social and cultural contexts of modern physics and the impact of physics on society.
