Description
Get to know, or become reacquainted with, the satisfying and creative pastime of sewing in this two week workshop for beginners. During the first session, students will learn how to select a pattern for their skill level, calculate yardage changes; choose fabric and corresponding notions and linings; and prepare their fabric and pattern for cutting and marking. Following the first night, students will be expected to purchase the materials and tools for their selected project and bring them and their sewing machine to the second session. There will be an optional class field trip at a local fabric store in order for the instructor to help the student select their fabric, notions and any tools. The second session will instruct students in how to follow commercial pattern instructions as they begin to develop their chosen pattern into a completed project.
